Just focusing on building more value, just focusing on making sure that every single project I work on is better than the last one.. branding by CONTENT AND RESULTS over anything else.

And before all you “8-Hours-A-Week-Is-All-You-Need-To-Grow-A-Business-Get-Your-Heart-In-The-Right-Place-And-All-Your-Dreams-Will-Follow” Warriors jump in trying to slam me because you think I’m saying everyone should work like I do..

Hold fire.. there’s a point to this post… I know it might take up 1 minute 42 seconds of your precious 8 hours. But you might just learn something of actual value AND I’ll even keep it short for you

It’s the reason we limit ourselves to 8 people at a time on our 1-2-1 coaching..{and sell it all out within a day}... It’s why we’ve stopped taking on new clients for our Done-For-You Digital Marketing for the next 5 weeks or so, it’s why we’re turning down literally life-changing offers from companies that would have laughed at us 6 months ago.

Because that’s the biggest mistake I see people making on a regular basis, especially in the early stages of business success.. and I used to be the worst for it... The old beady eyes get a bit bigger than the belly. The money starts to outweigh the service.

Its the exact phrase two of the sharpest guys I know in Business used the very first time I spoke with them.

One was Gary Vaynerchuk [I’m not actually claiming to know him to boost my social proof..which coincidentally I don’t need because we’re full after taking his advice.. I paid VIP for an event he was speaking at and had 5 minutes to chat with him}

And one was.. well.. actually I'm still not unconvinced he’s not just some fat, hairy troll pranking everyone from his mums basement 😉 But he’s a very smart fat, hairy troll.

What they both said was:
EVERYWHERE is moving more and more towards not just content. But branding yourself by content so good, so powerful and so aligned with your customers desires, their situations, their obstacles, there beliefs and their personalities that it's almost taking them on their own personal journey and pulling them into your company or upsell route when THEY want to, they're not being forced through.

And most importantly that that level of quality in that content doesn’t just stay consistent as you scale up… It gets BETTER, that you have the patience to scale your company up properly alongside it, that you deliver more value, that you build more authority. Over-delivering like fuck at every single step

If you based it purely on time.. we have space for more clients in the digital marketing agency and in our 1-2-1 coaching… I could quite easily fill those and then double the amount of people we have as clients, outsource the work to people away from my company, who don’t follow the same method, who aren’t motivated and who don’t come up to the standards we expect and who are barely vetted (the way most people run by the way)

And that’s what I would have done in the past, thats what I did do in the past. Take the money, figure out a solution later…”Say yes to everything and you’ll figure out a way to make it happen” was what I’d been taught

But is that really going to be helping you build that business for long term growth? Is it really going to be branding you by your content, your service and your results? Is it really going to be helping you build that raving fan base and that long term legacy that will provide you and your family freedom, security, time, whatever the fuck you ask of it…?

No, you do that and failure will bite you in the fucking arse. It may just nibble at it at first.. {Joe would like that} but if you don’t provide anywhere near the value you should be, BEFORE and AFTER a customer commits to you. At some point t’s going to take that fatal bite.

And I know you can’t just make that change happen over night. The sole reason, I have been up for 3 days working non stop and why that is a normal week for me nowadays (I catch up on sleep on Sunday and Monday nights usually with a good 8 hours a night when the girlfriend and her daughter stay)

Is that I am building more and more value behind the scenes, I am fixing holes in our own system that are not 110%.. You won’t see any of it if you’re not in our members area.. thats the way we want it for now, growing organically from referrals, from cool people that we enjoy being around, until WE decide we want to open to a larger audience. {IF we do}

NOT because I need to, NOT because I have some deep-rooted problem in my past which means I have to prove something to someone or all that other shit. NOT because I’m trying to tell anyone they need to work this hard in order to have a business. {You still have to work very hard for a few years, if you’re prepared for anything less you shouldn’t be in business IMO}

But because I love it, I love the journey, I love the pressure, I love the hustle and I love standing in front of my whiteboard walls all day and night testing ideas. Because the truth is.. if I wasn’t getting paid for it, I’d be playing around with it anyway {sounds cliche.. but the truth}

I’m not going to dilute that message any more for fear of pushing people to believe they have to work 3 days straight.

It’s who I am. I’m a fucking weirdo.. I know I am, I get told that all the time. Joe and Dan are convinced I’m autistic, I’m just waiting for the day I turn up at home and they’re standing outside ready to drag me to be tested

But I balance my time, my energy, my effort the way that I want to, the way that I feel will serve me and the very very few people I have close to me in the best possible way.

And I have a shit ton of fun whilst I’m doing it.
